Thanks for considering me to be your portrait photographer. Take a look at the packages listed below and then give me a call to set up an appointment. My goal is to give you value for your money, with no hidden or unexpected fees.  There's a lot to read because we tell you EVERYTHING! No hidden or surprise costs -- our promise to you!

Each portrait package is described in detail, and you will find tips about preparing for your session at the bottom of this page.  

You can choose from three different packages, and then order additional prints from a separate menu.  You will receive proofs and an order form in the mail within two weeks of your session. A $20 deposit is required at the time you make your appointment, with balance due at the time of the session. I accept VISA and Mastercard or your personal check.

Each package includes at least one retouched 8x10-inch print of your favorite pose, plus whatever prints or electronic files that your yearbook requires.  AND YOU GET A PROOF BOOK TO KEEP AT NO CHARGE. (Proof book is 8.5 x 11 on Epson Presentation Matte Paper, with 4 images per page, and spiral bound between durable plastic covers.)

You see the results in the studio before you leave.  You will be able to see the unretouched digital high resolution files on a computer at the end of your session, to be sure that we have been successful.

You can have photography on-location, and as many additional prints as you like in addition to the prints included in the packages. See details below.

You are encouraged to bring a prop or clothing that reflects your interests, such as a musical instrument or sports equipment. My wife, Kathy, or other experienced assistants on my staff, will serve as an extra set of eyes, to make sure everything looks just right.

Professional hair and make-up:  A licensed professional is available at an hourly rate to assist you.  Price will be quoted after we discuss your needs.

Black & White:  I do not charge extra for black and white prints -- I will gladly make them from any of your pictures at the same price as handmade dye or pigment prints -- see the price list below.

CD-ROM:  Instead of buying additional prints from the print menu, you can buy a CD and have prints made anywhere.  The CD label includes a copyright release signed by me, so any lab or retail store can make prints for you.  Ultra saving this way!

Packages:

1. Basic:  
$48.00 plus tax.  12 - 16 images with two backgrounds, no additional changes of clothes with this one but you will have about 30 minutes of studio time.  Includes one 8x10 retouched print of your favorite pose, plus prints or files for your yearbook at no additional charge.  You receive paper proofs and order form within two weeks of session.  NOTE: A $20 deposit is due when you make your appointment -- VISA and Mastercard welcome. The balance of $28.00 plus tax is due at the time of your session. Cancellations:  I will refund your deposit if you give me 24 hours notice that you must cancel.

2. Basic Double: 
$74.00 plus tax.  Two changes of clothes, at least three backgrounds, 18 to 36 images and 40 minutes of studio time.   Includes an 8x10 retouched print of two of your favorite poses, plus prints or files of one of those choices for your yearbook at no additional charge.  You receive paper proofs and order form within two weeks of session.  NOTE: A $20 deposit is due when you make your appointment -- VISA and Mastercard welcome. The balance of $54.00 plus tax is due at the time of your session. Cancellations:  I will refund your deposit if you give me 24 hours notice that you must cancel.

3. Totally You:  
$98.00 plus tax.  Includes free outdoor locations. Up to four changes of clothes, at least four backgrounds, 40 to 60 images and about an hour of studio time.   Includes an 8x10 retouched print of four of your favorite poses, plus prints or files of one of those choices for your yearbook at no additional charge.  You receive paper proofs and order form within two weeks of session. NOTE: A $20 deposit is due when you make your appointment -- VISA and Mastercard welcome. The balance of $78.00 plus tax is due at the time of your session. Cancellations:  I will refund your deposit if you give me 24 hours notice that you must cancel.

Digital Background   Add $50 to any package.   You or I will provide a royalty-free high resolution image as your background. (We cannot use an image that is copyrighted by someone else.)  I will attempt to acquire an image if I don't already have something you like. You will get a special proof on paper or a CD for your approval before final prints are made. Each of these photo-montages is custom made by me, an hour or more to do properly.

On Location:  FREE with TOTALLY YOU if we walk to areas next to the studio, or drive 5 minutes to a nearby public park (you must provide your own transportation to the park because of insurance restrictions). On our property, we have a meadow, a rustic stockade fence, tall marsh grass, a retaining wall, a painted wall, and an urban alley.  The nearby public park has trees, pond, and foot bridge.  We will reschedule at no charge if weather is bad.


Add $75 for up to two hours, including travel time, to go to a different location of your choice. At that location, we will then do a package equivalent to Totally You, above -- four backgrounds and up to four changes of clothes, with 40 to 60 images, for $98  -- a total of $173.00 plus tax.  You will get 4 retouched 8x10s of your favorite poses, plus the prints or files for the yearbook.  Deposit of $20 at the time you make the appointment, balance due at sitting.  Cancellation policy same as above. We will reschedule at no charge if weather is bad.

An assistant will go with us to help with clothes and additional lighting equipment. So, as an example, if we travel to your favorite park, taking 20 minutes each way, we then have an hour and 20 minutes for photography, changing clothes, finding various places to shoot, etc. Cancellations:  I will refund your deposit if you give me 24 hours notice that you must cancel. If the weather looks doubtful on the day before (per the Weather Channel), I will suggest that we re-schedule.

Tips for portraits: Above all, you should be comfortable!  Wear clothes that you like, and that you think make you look like you want to look.  Men should shave an hour before the sitting and have a haircut that is at least a few days old. Women should wear normal street makeup and whatever jewelry you like to have on. Necklaces should be short and follow the neckline of the blouse. If I see a distracting element, we'll take care of it during the session. Regarding colors, I think you should wear what you like.  If you like a particular shirt or sweater, you will look relaxed when you wear it.  Jackets or sweaters in blues, grays, browns, or black will be fine. Avoid busy patterns if possible.  We want your face, not your clothes, to be the most interesting part of this portrait! But the most important thing is that you like what you are wearing!

All of the price information is on an order form you will receive with your proofs.  Payment is due with your order.  VISA and Mastercard welcome. All orders guaranteed -- return all prints and you will get a full refund of the print price.

Print Prices

Fully retouched professional prints.  4x6, 5x7, and 8x10 prints are delivered in display folders.  11x14 and larger are delivered in protective frames.

  • Additional Poses:  Add $8.00 for retouching and image correction for additional poses beyond those that you get with the package that you selected.
  • CD-ROM of your entire session, with copyright release, $32.00;  You can get prints at any drugstore, on-line service, camera store, or other retail source.  We are not responsible for the way that uncorrected images might look when not retouched and printed by us!
  • Classic Prints: From one pose, in addition to the free print or prints included in your portrait package.
    • Wallets - Two Kinds: large 2.5 x 3.5 borderless with die cut rounded corners, 49 cents each OR a sheet of 12 2x3 uncut prints that you trim for $3.49 per sheet of 12. SEE SAMPLE WALLETS.
    • 4x6, $6.00 for 1st print; $4.00 each additional;
    • 5x7, $8.00 for 1st print, $6.00 each additional;
    • 8x10, $12.00 first print; $10.00 each additional. 
  • Heirloom Prints on museum-quality paper using pigment inks with estimated permanence of 100-200 years. From one pose, in addition to the free print or prints included in your portrait package.
    • 5x7, $15.00 for 1st print, $10.00 each additional;
    • 8x10, $24.00 for first print, $16.00 each additional;
    • 11x14, $40.00 for 1st print, $28.00 each additional;
    • 12x16, $65.00 1st print, $50.00 each additional.
  • You can mix and match Classic and Heirloom Prints.  For instance, you could get
    wallets and 4x6s as Classics, but then get an 8x10 Heirloom print.
  • There is no extra charge for black & white or brown tone.
  • Special sizes: We will get quotes on sizes of 16x20 or larger, which must be sent to an outside commercial lab.

    • Sales tax applies to all sales.
